Question: How do you determine what age classroom my child will attend?
The age your child is by September 30th determines whether they are in a 2, 3, or 4 year old class.
Question: Do you care for infants?
No, infant care is not provided due to the zoning requirements on the building.
Question: Do all two year old children need to be potty trained?
No, potty training is part of their program. A child must be potty trained to enter the 3 and 4 year old classes.
Question: Do children in the preschool and childcare program wear uniforms?
Preschoolers are not required to wear uniforms. We ask that they be dressed appropriately for the weather, as we go outside to play. Tennis shoes, or other types of tie-on shoes, are recommended for foot wear.
Question: How much Bible instruction is included in the preschool program?
Teachers tell Bible stories on a daily basis. Chapel is held once a month for all classes. As part of the curriculum, the children have 4 Bible verses they can learn each month. This continues through the summer for the childcare program.
Question: Do the children eat lunch during the program?
Yes, the children get 30 minutes for lunch each day they are here. Parents can provide lunch in one of two ways: 1) send a packed lunch from home, or 2) purchase a lunch ticket from GCA. The ticket holder is entitled to eat the hot lunch prepared in our kitchen. The ticket is good for 10 lunches and costs $30.
Question: Are you a licensed childcare center?
While we are regulated by the Virginia Department of Social Services, we have opted to apply and receive a Religious Exemption certificate.
Question: What are Nazarenes?
The Nazarene denomination was birthed out of the Methodist tradition in the early 1900’s. We are evangelical in doctrine, with an emphasis on being set free from sin and guilt by accepting Jesus as our personal Saviour. Our church believes a person can live a holy life through the power of Jesus .
